Who are Soutar Photography?

My name is Martin Soutar and I set up Soutar Photography in 2005. Originally it was geared towards Ireland's Landscapes and Wildlife, a real passion of mine. However as I prepared for my own wedding in September 2010, I thought, "we could do this, and a lot better".

Soutar Photography is a Husband and Wife team who aim to bring out your personality through our photographs. The most important thing on your big day is YOU (the Bride and Groom). Everything else should be secondary and we should be lower than that! Many people have an opinion that wedding photographers are intrusive, pushy and give the impression the wedding revolves around them. We are as far removed from that stereotype as physically possible. We pride ourselves on our relaxed, modern and versatile style but at the same time remaining cost effective, efficient and unobtrusive. So now a bit more about us as people!




Martin Soutar
I am Martin or Marty as most people call me when I haven't done something wrong! I had the opportunity while at secondary school to do a GCSE in Photography. This involved working in a dark room for hours on end but it sparked a passion in me. Photography has undoubtably moved on since those days and I like to think my creativity and ideas have developed and matured too.

As photographic technology has progressed I have tried to keep pace, hard on a student wage. From a Canon and Nikon film SLR through Fujifilm and Sony high end point and shoot cameras to, at present, two Nikon bodies (D90 and D200) and many different lenses, flashes and other essential piece's of kit. I love getting to know our clients and working with them on the day gives me such a buzz. I find the experience of working with happy couples on one of their most memorable days humbling and exciting in equal measure.



Lisa Soutar
I am Lisa - The creative side of Soutar Photography. You'll usually find me organising the group photographs and making sure the bride is beautiful and her dress is just right. A lot of the 'spur of the moment' candid shots are taken by me! With our unintrusive style and ability to fade into the background we are a great team!

You may know me better as the girl that owns 'Discounts4Brides' where the aim is to get wedding services and products at a more affordable price! I pride myself in being knowledgeable and ahead of the game when it comes to weddings. So if you don't know how something is mean't to be worn or what the etiquette is for something on your big day i'm always on hand to assist!





We aim to provide you with the best value for money Wedding Photography in Northern Ireland. We don't hide behind letters after our name and we don't surprise our customers with over priced packages or services. We are all about being a part of your day, capturing the joy, energy and love yet we won't take you from your day. A lot of planning goes into your big day not just by yourself, but by us, to insure you get an efficient yet memorable experience. Wedding Photography does have to cost the Earth and at Soutar Photography we ensure that saving on cost doesn't mean lossing out on quality.
