Before the Day
Do you enjoy what you do?
Absolutely! Photography is our passion - and we hope that comes across in our work.
Are you experienced?
We recently got married ourselves so we understand what it is like to be on your side of the camera. Martin has been working at a high amateur level for the past 12years and you can learn more About Us here. Testimonials from previous couples is proof that we are highly regarded in the industry.
What equipment do you use?
As stated in About Us we are Nikon fans. There is little to choose between the two major camera brands and it comes down to personal preference. We have a variety of lenses we use on the the day, a fast prime lens for indoor and portrait shots, a telephoto lens for more natural candids are two of our favourites. We are always well stocked on Memory Cards, Batteries and Flash Units allowing us to deal with every eventuality. We also bring a laptop to each wedding allowing us to back up your days images on the go.
Are you insured?
Yes! We have professional indemnity, public liability insurance and our equipment is insured.
Are your prices guaranteed?
Book now and you are guaranteed the price at the time of your booking up to and including 2014 weddings. However our individual album prices may change from the time of your booking. We recommend for customers interested in an album at a future date to book a Love or The Works packages. Where an album is included in the package, you are guaranteed no extra cost, even if the cost of the album on it's own has increased.
Are there any hidden costs?
What you see is what you get! Our Packages are aimed to provide for the majority of couples without having to worry about hidden extras.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included when the destination is within a 1 hour radius of Belfast. That covers most the East of Northern Ireland - including the Greater Belfast area, The North Coast and Newry. For destinations further afield, but no more than 2.5hrs away we charge £50.00. We can quote you for destinations outside that.
Do you cover Ireland?
Yes and we love it! For Donegal, Louth, Monaghan and Cavan there will be a £50 fee to cover fuel. For other areas please don't hesitate to Contact Us
Have you been to our hotel?
We have been around the majority of venues in Northern Ireland but we understand it would take years to cover them all. If we haven't been to your venue (ceremony or reception) we will definitely be down to scope it out before your big day.
Can we request specific photographs?
Of course. With two photographers on the day we will be available to capture the bridesmaid's family portrait or a group of sisters. We do request a list of Group Photographs a month before the wedding day in order to plan the moments after your ceremony. You can look through some of our Previous Weddings and let us know of any photographs you are particularly keen on.
Do you do engagement photographs?
Yes! All our Packages include an engagement shoot at a location of your choice and a 10 x 8 print of your favourite shot. We keep our engagement sessions fun, casual and relaxed. We see it as a fantastic way to get to know you before your big day!
Whats your most important attribute?
Building a rapport with our clients. It is very important that our customers feel relaxed and at ease with us behind the camera.
What is your style?
We have a modern, relaxed and versatile style. We aim to bring out your personality through the photographs we capture. Our unique male-female team works well in a wedding setting.
Can you tailor your packages & prices?
Our Packages are not set in stone we can alter them (within reason) to suit your needs.
Are you a member of any professional body?
I am a Licensiate of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers. This means that my work is deemed to be of a good, professional standard.
What if you are sick?
This has never happened. Being a team if one of us is sick they can take more of a back seat on the day. If in the unlikely event of an illness to both of us Lisa has many contacts in the wedding industry and your day will be covered at no extra cost to you.
How much is the deposit?
To book your wedding a £50 Deposit is required to secure the date. For a Basic or Romance package the remainder of the balance is required on or before the date of your wedding. For a Love or The Works Package we require the remainder of the balance minus £200 on or before the date of your wedding. The final £200 is payable on receipt of your wedding album. This may sound overly complicated but we feel it gives our customers piece of mind.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept cheques (made payable to Martin Soutar), cash and Paypal.
Do you have terms & conditions?
Yes! They form part of the contract and are designed to give you and us piece of mind. You will be given a copy of the contract for your records.
On the Day
Who attends our wedding?
Lisa and I will attend every wedding
How long do you need for Photos?
Group shots require time to organise and these are normally done immediately after the ceremony while everyone is still together. As a rough guide, allow 5 minutes for each group shot - normally we are quicker, but big groups can take longer, (due to factors outside our control - location, weather and people). We PRIDE ourselves on being efficient and our forward planning is second to none. We don't you missing the craic and banter at your own wedding because you are getting photographs taken all day.
We give our couples this advice,
3 hours between the time of your service and the time of your meal, you will have plenty of time for group photos, time to meet and talk to your guests, say 30 minutes for a bride and groom photo session, and time for a receiving line.
2 hours is OK if there is no travelling time - if time becomes pressured, we can fit in a bride and groom session later.
1 hour - you may feel rushed.
How long will you stay at our wedding?
This is dependant on the package, Basic, Romance and Love we will be with you from 45 to 30mins before your service until the Staged Cake Cutting. If you decide to have your speeches before dinner we will stay to cover those. For The Works customers we will call to your house before the ceremony to get a few preparation shots and will stay until the first dance.
Do you want us to feed you?
No thank you. We would rather you used your hard earned cash to invite another couple of guests to your reception.
After Service
How long before we get our photos?
We aim to have your pictures online within a fortnight and your DVD's with you inside 3 weeks.
Do we get the photos on CD?
For all of our Packages you will receive a DVD Slideshow, playable in the majority of home DVD players and an Image Disc. The Images are NOT COPYRIGHTED, you can print them, put them on Facebook and share them with your friends and family.
How do we design our album?
Designing an album is a daunting task if you have no experience. We will provide you with Templates for the album you choose. This gives you a feel for how the album should look and will alow you to make adjustments and changes before the album is printed.
How long does it take to get the album back?
We allow for 4-6weeks from the date we agree on the templates.
Can you provide framed enlargements?
Yes. Our Memories area of the website has many products including, albums, framed enlargements and parent books.
How do I order reprints?
Prints can be ordered through your private album in the Client Area of our website.
